Kristel Tardif-Grenier

Kristel Tardif-Grenier, Ph. D., is professor in the Département de psychoéducation et de psychologie at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO, Saint-Jérôme campus). Her research focuses on positive youth development and flourishing among adolescents and young adults growing up in contexts of vulnerability, including young people from immigrant backgrounds or racialized groups, those living in situations of social disadvantage and those facing difficulties in their educational pathways. She is particularly interested in the resilience factors within their social environment that support their adjustment and well-being. Her work examines the role of coping strategies, school engagement and the support provided by significant adults and by young people’s social networks. A regular researcher at the Institut universitaire Jeunes en difficulté (IUJD) and the Groupe de recherche sur les environnements scolaires (GRES), she favours mixed-methods approaches in order to better understand young people’s experiences and pathways.
