Pascal Gauthier

PhD candidate in applied human sciences (UQAC)

Pascal Gauthier is a social worker and a PhD candidate in applied human sciences at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), under the supervision of professors Eve Pouliot (UQAC) and Séverine Parent (UQAR). A doctoral scholarship recipient of the Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines (CRSH), he is conducting research on the role of young people’s and parents’ digital cultural capital in shaping their relationship to digital literacy education as it is understood and received in school settings. His research interests also extend to central concerns of social work, notably rights advocacy and the persistence of social inequalities. Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative analysis, he is involved in various CRC ZENITH projects on screen use among young people in a post-pandemic context.
