Julie Fortin, Psy.D., is professor of outdoor intervention and a psychologist. Her work examines the connections between nature, psychological health and human relationships, with a particular focus on nature and adventure intervention (INA) as a lever for individual and collective well-being. She is especially interested in how outdoor experiences can support mental health, quality of life and social cohesion among diverse populations. Her current research explores the effects of contact with nature on mental health, particularly in the context of psychotherapy. She contributes to several projects in sustainable health and psychosocial intervention, notably on the development of horticulture-based interventions, nature-centred self-management tools for anxiety, and experiential practices in university teaching.
