Sophie Bouchard

Sophie Bouchard is a doctoral student in applied human sciences at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), where her work is supervised by professor Eve Pouliot (UQAC) and researcher Marie-Ève Blackburn (Cégep de Jonquière). She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in social work from UQAC. Her research interests centre on the sociology of deviance, social representations and mechanisms of normative regulation. She is particularly interested in the social representations held by various social groups and their role in the process by which screen use becomes normalized. Alongside her research activities, she maintains a clinical practice as a social worker, working with an adult population presenting complex needs.
